Service Description

In the Advanced Bowl Turning class we will explore the artistic side of bowl turning by learning how to turn natural edge bowls, wing bowls and various other artistic pieces. This class is designed for the student who is confident in the proper use of a wood lathe and all associated bowl turning tools and equipment. They must be able to properly execute bevel rubbing cuts and scrapes with a bowl gouge. Correct tool-to-wood presentation is critical due to the interrupted nature of the cuts involved to turn these pieces. To register for this class a student is required to have previously taken the beginner class or intermediate class, or have equivalent experience. All tools, equipment, materials and supplies will be provided, however, students are required to provide their own face shield and wear it during class. Students may bring their own turning tools if they wish, but please note that tools with carbide cutters will not be used in this class.
